Title: New spawning channels for Vedder Chum
Post by: troutbreath on February 01, 2007, 11:58:08 PM
Was watching the tube while reading some posts and apparently the whole area around Chilliwack is going to get reborn. By that I mean submerged in the waters of a swollen Fraser river. Time to start organizing some sand bag brigades I think. Noticed this year skiing that there is a whack of snow again on the local mountains. Like some other bad years like the report stated.... El Nino'd again

A lot of the Fraser River's watershed snow packs are 150% above normal this year. If we get a weather pattern similar to 1948 I could be fishing from the roof of my house.

Also I hear they are predicting a possible large earthquake for the South Coast in the next two weeks and then there is global warming to deal with.

What nice news to start ones day with but it is, a nice sunny day here in the Valley, better go fishing. O darn more bad news I just remember I have my 5th meeting of the week to attend, more bad news. ::)

What is up with people, Only bringing up the bad news?? What about some good news? Thers more to life than just worrying about bad things, just enjoy life! and hell, if an earthquake or flood or whatever wants to come rolling in town then fine, it'll get sorted out :)

Derp: it is not bad news at this point.  Seeing some of that footage from the last big flood to hit the Chilliwack area was pretty shocking. What they were trying to get across is that dikes in certain areas need to be shored up or built up now, because of the higher than normal spring runoff that is anticipated this year. Provincially and Federally the government types have been dragging their heels on this one it seems.  Big stumbling block as always is who foots the bill.

If your house was in the path of a major flood wouldn't you be a bit concern ?

cement blocks keeping idiots from driving in there, go fishing in the summer and youll see why theyre doing it,  kids partying and camping/squatting,   Massive mess.   Ps   if you build a house in a flood plain Guess what???

umm, you wouldn't have to go fishing anymore cuz all the fish would be in your livingroom?   ;D
