Good to hear! I know the quail in the valley bottoms have thrown large clutches this year.
-
It is as brought home a good number of blues and willows last week, saw a lot, more than the last few years.
-
Picked up about a dozen grouse last week, and they were fat and tasty. The grouse in my area are much smarter then normal, saw about 40-50 but only able to bag about a dozen.

Yes they are but I did not get out until the Sunday after the opening, Dinned on the first one tonight, better than chicken and better for us too. Similar to not eating farmed salmon. ::)

Have seen a ton of grouse this year as well!! Seriously seeing 2-8 a day on various logging roads in the northern parts of region 2.

Back hunting and after any buck tomorrow. Did not take any meat on the trip as I knew I would find a couple of grouse. Was not disappointed as saw 4 and got 2 big blues and a willow. I think that will substain me for a while but deer liver and onions would be nice too.
-
Got a few more grouse on the above hunt and was fortunate to take a 2 point mule with a shot through the throat, no meat ruined, now hanging in a cooler, venision for the winter. Oh and liver tonight was excellent.

Good to hear Chris.
I got a spike buck which should be great eating and a nice black bear. Along with many chicken sized grouse and some rabbits.

You are set too, well done, now for some ducks, who needs a meat market when you hunt and fish!!!

Exactly ;D, Going on one last hunt today, then its ducks, geese, and salmon/steelhead time.
-
Well done both Chris and humpy!
I will be heading out at the end of October for my bucks.
Then November on its ducks. Did some scouting last weekend and have seen low numbers of ducks and mostly residents.

Yes, I saw only a few flying this AM when out fishing. The cold temps will soon come up north and the migration will be on. Heard geese flying over during the night at Princeton a few days ago.

Was a good last hunt, got about 15 grouse. Saw lots of does but no bucks.

Thanks Chris , I will be out tomorrow morning as I have patterned some geese and ducks. With this rain it will sure help to keep them moving!
