Title: how to fillet
Post by: caster on October 29, 2005, 12:32:54 PM
I have caught a couple of salmon this year and tried to fillet them, tasted good but the filleting was messy. Does anyone know where I could get a book on techniques or video on the fundamentals of how to fillet.

Read this thread:

Plus this question belongs in "Fishing Kitchen" not "Sport Chat".  Easy mistake to make.

But in a word about filleting: practice

The info at this site is pretty good ... lays out the process well and is easy to understand.  Have a look and see if it helps you at all.

Take care,
Peter

It's all in the knife, make sure you have a quality knife.

1. Good knife
2. Lay the fish on newspaper.  It doesn't slip!
