It seems like the City Council is pretty set on closing the Ambleside boat launch permanently for powered boats. That's going to make the Cap fishery harder for some and impossible for others. I'm just curious if the Sailing Club is going to be an exempt as I'm pretty sure there is quite a few motorized sail boats.

Not really I've travelled from the Vanier Park launch in Kitsilano to the Cap in 14' boats (and one smaller) more times than I can count and lived to tell the tale.

For those interested, there is a petition you can now sign in support of this issue

Please get as many interested in this as you can and get that petition circulating. We need to keep our access to the water open to everyone who wishes to use it. You may not have used that boat launch yet, but you may want/need it in the future. Once those water access amenities are taken away they are rarely re-opened.

Could be a good thing for more kayaks! And it's healthier too.
