Question for the river people...
« on: January 20, 2005, 02:40:33 PM »

Something I have always wondered about is when the rivers get blown out where do the fish go that are in the system at the time of the blow out ??? What are your thoughts on this ???

Fish tend to hang in the back eddies and very, very close to shore. I've caught them 3 feet from shore.

They also go deep.  The current right at the bottom is slightly slower than up a bit.  Basically, they're going to conserve energy and find the easiest place to be.  Blown out typically means that the water is so dark that it is not fishable.  Try using dark colours (even black) and larger presentations if you're brave enough to go out.
