Title: What is your cutthroat setup this time of the year?
Post by: Rodney on January 16, 2005, 05:50:33 PM: That's right! Steelhead is not the only species that we are interested in. ;)

We are thinking about some cutthroat fishing in the next little while. In the past, I have done pretty well with small offerings under a float, or tiny spinners or spoons this time of the year.

What would your cutthroat setup be around this time of the year. The fish are basically done feeding on eggs, is the diet switching to salmon flesh etc now?

More importantly, what is your biggest winter cutthroat. My biggest came 8 years ago, an 18 incher at a local creek.

I just bought a TFO 5 WT. to hunt down those cutties, Rolled Muddler is fly of choice.
