Hello there,
I am a beginner in fly fishing. Interested in buying a used SPEY ROD AND REEL COMBO to start practising.
I have tried my friend's Spey rod 10# and was able to shoot well. I don't want to break my 6wt fly set up when I cast for springs or chums.
Please suggest where to start and let me know if you are planning to let go one of your old rods feeding dust.
I am looking something between 10-14 feet and 9-12 wt. Not sure where to start in spey. Suggestions welcome.
Cheers

Just a bit of advice for rivers in the lower mainland an 8wt is perfectly enough for springs and chum anything from a 11'6" and up is enough a I fish a 8126 sage one locally and it handles everything perfectly. see lots of guys casting a 8wt in 13' range is and always will be very popular. if u wana stay low in price look at a redington dually and or an echo classic both under 300$ and a veriety of wts and lengths
