Birkenhead River
« on: October 22, 2011, 10:20:00 PM »

Hey i was up at the birkenhead river today and not much seemed to be going on, i got a few small trout on egg patterns but nothing to write home about, i was wondering if i was in the wrong area, i was up on portage road around the spetch creek area, maybe below where portage road crosses the Birkenhead?

sorry i should have specified, in the wrong area for trout, i only saw a handful of small ones all day and a few bull trout

halfway through the day i ended up calling Spud Valley in Pemberton and he gave me some good access, i heard the fishing is better when the sokeye are in, the only live salmon i found were a pair of coho. What is it like in summer?

Run has been over now for some time.  Great numbers of sockeye this year have already come in and done their thing.
