for artificials my favs are small gold or silver colorado blaes, jensen egg with a tuff of peach wool, and orange goey bobs. Have also had good succes in early season with a small (about 1cm) red spin n glow with silver wings.
For floats my personal favorite is 20 gram drennens but there prety expencive as far as floats go. I often find myself using DNE floats in the 20 gram size. With floats try and stay away from rap around foam floats as your line cuts into them and because the lines rapped around it makes the bite not as easy to see the float go down.
And if you dont know youll want to have your float balanced so the float sits just below the coloured top of the float.

And if you take a trip to van. island try a flyrod with an indicator, couple small split shots and small shrimp style flies for summer runs.
