Osoyoos Lake Fish ** NEED IDENTIFICATION
« on: September 02, 2014, 06:38:09 PM »

Fish found in Osoyoos lake, measured out at just over three feet. Been told it is a Burbot, but looking for a second opinion. The world record is 25 pounds, could this fish be close in size to that if it was over three feet? How old could it be?

Neat. I'm hoping you didn't kill a fish you couldn't identify.

We didn't kill the fish, it washed up on the beach dead, also wondering why that could have happened?

100 things could have happened.

And that burbot is probably about 15lbs.

I've seen a few half dead floaters over the years.  Something about their bladders making them really bouyant.

Should have used a banana for scale.

Yeah because everyone carries a banana with them while  at the lake.

Often, it's the ugliest fish that are the best tasting.  ie. Halibut, Cod, Sole, cat fish        I wouldn't test that theory with women though.
