NON-TIDAL ANGLING CLOSURE
NO FISHING – All Rivers in Area 14
Pursuant to Variation Order 2006-489
Effective 00:01 October 26, 2006 until November 15, 2006, there is an angling closure to all fin fish in rivers in Area 14 from the Oyster River to Englishman River, inclusive. Currently, the river flows are extremely low. This closure is to prevent any disruption to spawning activities and recognize that fish are at jeopardy due to stress of holding and are vulnerable to human activity.
No angling (no fishing) in the following river systems in Management Area 14
Oyster River, Black Creek, Little River, Puntledge River, Trent River, Tsable River, Qualicum River, Little Qualicum River, Rosewall Creek, Nile Creek, French Creek, Englishman River (Region 1).

Good on them for taking these restrictions. Desperate times call for desperate measures as they say. It’s certainly a pain and it sucks not to be able to enjoy going out fishing but anybody who thinks otherwise has to take into mind that this is being done for the good of the fish so you can enjoy the rewards 3 or 4 years from now.
