Title: any way to set up a "hook keeper" on a rod (apart from a new guide)
Post by: dennisK on October 10, 2005, 12:55:19 PM
Is there an makeshift way to set up a hook keeper on a rod?  something not involving tying a new hook guide on the bottom of the rod?

It's usually not a 'full guide' just a small wire ring sometimes a folding unit.
Terry's offer is a decent one if you're in his 'hood.

Usually i just fold my rod up, put the float down to the weight, pull leader over and hook onto trigger, and wrap excess around cork and hook onto it. Then put one of my rod wraps over top of the hook so it wont come out. Not sure if this is what you want, but i find it works good.

yes. Dawg, hook into the cork, it's life, unless your a picky fisherman, who is in love with his Rod more than his Wife
