Interesting.
I'm seeing that 11'2" @ 750lbs is larger than 12'4" and 11'8" (both over 1000lbs) caught earlier ;)

From what I gather the other two were total length measurements and not fork length...
Also from what I read of this guys blog, he tends to be conservative with weight.
It also says the largest "tag and release" sturgeon this season. Does Dean not tag his fish?
What a gorgeous fish.

From the articles I've seen Dean does tag them, and none of them have been bigger than 11'2".
I don't think he's being that conservative on his blog, but his numbers do look more accurate and match up with what other guides are saying for approx weight. They also match with sizes from the Fraser River Sturgeon Program, where a 11'2" would be approx 757lbs.

Dean tags, and he records their length as nose to fork...but for some reason measures nose to tip and tells the media its the biggest ever?

the 12'4 was measured nose to tip of the tail, to the fork of the tail it was 11'1, this one was 11'2 to the fork

Thanks for clearing that up. So this Dean guy who i think is a guide basically likes to measure to the tip of the tail rather than the fork length, which would always add more length as well as more weight!!! I am starting to understand now that what you see on TV or read in the papers is not always the truth in the case of his 2 world record fish? LOL I wonder why Mikes fish was not on TV or even talked about seeing as it is even bigger than the 2 world record fish? Oh ya does anybody know what he caught his fish on?
