Title: Byrne Creek fish kill
Post by: cutthroat22 on March 08, 2010, 09:08:41 AM
Very sad news.  People work hard to restore habitat and one persons actions can destroy their efforts.

"Cipywnyk said situations like this prove the need for more public education."

While I agree that elevating the level of public education can help to prevent future situations such as this, unfortunately there are always going to be people who just don't care enough about the repercussions of their actions to be responsible.  This is yet another sad reflection of humanity's general lack of respect for any other living creature.

No doubt....although public awareness and media attention is a step in the right direction

That's a shame..I walk my dog down there often...they've obviously put a lot of work into trying to revitalize the fish and wildlife habitat, hate to see it set back like this.  :(
