columbia river fishing

I am thinking of fishing the Columbia River for some walleye, has anyone been out or has any advice- best time of year and method to catch. i also heard there were bass there too.

September, jig heads (1/4-1/3 oz) and yellow or white twister tails, slow moving deep water. Really simple and lots of fun.

I don't know about bass but there are pike

Lots of smallmouth, never seen pike but I have heard they are in there.

thanks Rod, checked regs and pike are unlimited, catch and keep, no mention of bass though.

Oh before you do keep a pike, just double check to make sure it is not externally tagged.  There are a selection of females that have been externally tagged (believe 6 or so) to try to figure out where they are spawning.
