I've got sectional trout rods, but looking for a half-decent telescoping rod that I can leave tucked away in my truck (small enough that the sh#trats and crackheads cant see it) to pull out when the opportunity presents itself. Small trout spinning rod - not interested in Tenkara rods at this point.
Any recommendations?

I have one of these. They're good for what it is, and I got it for salmon size type fish, but they're like $100+. If you're just looking to catch trout, pickerel/walleye etc and the like, just get one at cabelas for around/under $20. I think mine's like 6' or 6.5' and collapses to about 1.5'. Works great.
BTW, it seems hard to find an ultralight action telescoping rod for trout. The lightest i was able to find was pretty much the cabelas one, but I didn't look too hard.

I prefer multi piece travel rods. I have a cabelas salt striker travel combo and love it. I leave it in my car, and have traveled to Cuba and Belize with it. I think it was $100 for the combo, including travel case.

Friend of mine has a Daiwa pack rod and is super happy with it (does spinning and fly so he has options with a couple cheap reels in case of theft from his car) - I THINK it's this one https://www.fishusa.com/product/Daiwa-Wilderness-Pack-Spinning-Rods - 19 bucks US.....
