Title: Fly typing_beginner setup :)
Post by: sassygrams on September 07, 2010, 02:39:26 PM
Okie, very excited and wanted to share this with people that just may understand and appreciate my excitement.  My uncle gave me all his old fly tying equipment which includes feathers, thread, a bench - all this stuff that I have no idea what to do with - but it's very exciting to be able to now learn how to tie flies.

Any suggestions or websites, information that anyone wants to share, feel free.  I've looked around today but so many sites out there :)

Happy Fishing

I also inherited a bunch of gear a few years back and the best advice I can give you is the advice I got at the time ....take a beginners fly tying course. I took mine at Michael and Young in Surrey and haven't looked back...I also catch a lot of fish on my hand tied flies....both trout and salmon....a great source of pride. Best of luck!!
