Title: Exploring Options for Transporting a Sylvan Cartop Boat
Post by: cuthbertdavies on February 20, 2024, 01:22:30 AM
Hello Everyone,

I recently purchased a 12-foot Sylvan cartop boat with a 57-inch beam. I plan to transport it on top of my F150 (6.5-foot box) when my wife and I tow our travel trailer to various destinations.

Questions:

What type of rack have you found to be the most suitable for side trips to other lakes once the base camp is set up?
Is a rack fitted onto the roof canopy strong enough for rough terrain, or should I prioritize a rack that wraps around the canopy and is fixed to the sides of the truck bed?
While I would love to invest in an EZ loader, I am currently on a fixed income.

I would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.

Get one that fits on the truck sides.  A lot stronger, if you ever sell your truck you are not restricted to having a canopy on the next truck. Do it right the first time.
