Probably more chance of the fish showing up than the Leafs winning a cup in the next 10 years  :D

See you soon Chris. I will be at the next cleanup  :)

its still good for tiny trout in the lower, and some bigger trout in the upper. When I was fishing for reds two weeks ago, I came across a 4lb rainbow, and the next day a 5lb bulll trout.

Yup, there is some decent trout fishing right now and some good sized dollies.

So the reds are over... When do the other species start showing up in numbers? Do they trickle in until mid September?

Coho salmon usually enter the river as early as late August. Fishing for coho salmon in September is usually tough, due to the number of fish and lower, drier river condition.

This year, if pink salmon arrive on schedule, you will also see them in the Chilliwack River by early to mid September.

If you know where to look, you will find excellent numbers of chrome bright spring jacks in very late august and early september.  In amongst these fish are some Coho as well.  These fish are roe pigs.  If I still lived down that way, Id be fishing for them.  But since I don't, Ill settle for Kitimat Coho and summer run steelhead in the Skeena tribs for the next couple months.

How about 1st weekend in October?  We've been going in mid october because we've always been told that that's the peak of springs, chum and coho.  However, the last 3 times we've been up there, we were told we were too late. Any thoughts?

From what I have experienced, I find that the last week of September and first week of October best for coho and chinook salmon fishing on the Chilliwack River, before the first rainfall arrives. Once rain arrives, depending on the amount, the fishing can be very good for a period of time before all the fish move through the system due to the water level rise.

Rodneys right on. Iv had jack coho and springs chase my spoons as early as mid august, but they would never commit. Also posted a report last year of a 18lb white caught last year at lickman, this was 2nd week august. I find peak fishing depends on the amount of rainfall as we get closer to october. I dont know alot about the coho, but I have always found chinook in ok good shape all the way till the first week of november.

Another small run of Red Spring come through in mid October.

I find Coho fishing on the fly best the week before the big dump of leaves on the water which makes it an incredible pain to flyfish.

Good Coho fishing on Krocs up to the time change then the action seems to slow off the spoons real quick.

End of August, depending on the water is the start for coho and jacks on the fly like others have stated.
