Just got a call from the RCMP from Agassiz and The Leaf Mobile was found in Harrison Hot Springs just now, they say it seems in OK shape. A good night as the Leaf won too. ;D ;D ;D
-
Good to hear Chris. Hopefully everything is fine with the truck

They hold it for a day or so to check for finger prints. The police said it looked OK.
-
Glad you got your truck back. The poor thief probably abandoned it because he's too embarrassed to be seen in public driving a Leaf mobile. ;D
-
They couldn't stand looking at the salmon stickers every time they checked the rear view mirror. ;D
So it looks like the broodstock capture program will meet its quota this year after all. ;)
-
I heard it has Canucks decals all over it now
-
No wonder the police said it's in an OK shape. ;)
Probably covered in salmon farm stickers too.
-
The smell of roe drove them out of it., pays to be a bait fisher. ;D ;D ;D
-
Congrat's Chris, good to hear !!!!

Woohoo!
Maybe they filled it with gas for you.
-
Im sorry to Inform you Chris. But all those garbage bags filled with Float and Cans are still missing.
-
Wonder if the thieves had the decency to at least put gas in the tank and leave a thank you note! ;)
Glad it was found!
-
That's a great news...looking forward to more fishing reports now...
-
got your truck back...now you just gotta contact a&e hoarders to clean it out :P
-
Good news Chris. See u on the river soon.
-
Gotta send a "Thank You Card" ( skip the red roses ) to that RCMP detachment.
Seems the police get a lot of negative comments but no positive ones so they will surely appreciate it.
Get your "friend" to start it up the 1st time , because I seen a movie once where a veicle blew up .
What are friends for; to help out right. Buy him a coffee if truck starts & no ga boom . ;D
Seriously we are all very happy for ya.
Guess your going to put or install some extra security devices / immobilizer. Peace of mind.
-
Right on Chris.
Hopefully they didnt bag it too much.
-
Congrats.
-
Darn, now Chris got is LM back there going to be more fishing competition. ;D LOL
Silex-user
-
Glad it turned out well in the end!!
-
Some damage and things stolen but the LM is happy to be home. ;D
See another thread about another break - in if it is not posted yet.

Be sure and get a mechanic to check out your drive train Chris, they may have driven it really hard and perhaps damaged something. ICBC will not check that out, they'll only look at the obvious physical damage.

My son said that too, thanks.

My son said that too, thanks.
Also ICBC will pay to have it completely detailed. Take advantage of the detailing for the inside of your vehicle. Years ago I had a vehicle stolen and needles were found in it from some junkies who stole my vehicle. I had it completely detailed including the carpets shampooed.

Very good, thanks for this too, I certainly appreciate all the tips.

If you are not going to put in an alarm a blinking light is a good deterrent and just a couple bucks.
Also pulling your ignition fuse will prevent the scum from driving away if they do indeed break into your vehicle.

These type of break - ins must be rampant these days, the Leaf Mobile had 4 of her sisters in for the same repair and that is just in one auto body shop, sad situation we are faced with.
-
I was away from the forum for a while and...wow...glad you got your LM back. :o
-
Chris's last post in this trend tells of 4 vehicles in for the same repair as his truck in one body shop.
That speaks volumes.
No wonder our insurance rates keep increasing.
Crime does not pay ( well it sure puts money in the hands of repair shops, gives jobs to security co.(s) police cts. jail & prison staff, alarm co(s) & locksmith businesses , not to mention baseball bats & guns for protection.)
Sadly criminals always leave victims behind & they just do not care.
So a person that took Chris's truck is just plain & simple a very very very selfish person.
It is all about ME ME & ME & who cares about the victim's suffering.
What a world we live in.
( including a high % of dishonest vehicle repair shops or kick back politicians ; the list goes on )

Yes I know, as I said before it is not the worse thing we encounter in life but it puts one in a bit of depressed mood, have not fished since the incident and of course it costs us $300 deductable.
-
The $300 deductable for theft or vandalism is outrageous... it's bad enough to be the victim of a crime without shelling out $300 too!

Perhaps I'm being paranoid here but the thought crossed my mind that perhaps the body shop is involved to drum up business ?
-
Fish Assassin you definitely are not paranoid because there are tons of scams going on.
Market Place on CBC many times has hidden cameras that catch so called experts lying with the only purpose to scam the customer of their $$$$. Repairs that are not needed or if needed they are over charged big time.
From plumbers ,garage door repairs, swimming pool repairmen, on & on..
Makes ya wonder when tires are slashed or windshields smashed or veicles scratched with keys if a friend is trying to make some local business for shops in the area.
Mind ya the ones that do crime are already self punished. They have to look at themselves in a mirror. ;D
One auto repair shop had 2 customers in one after the other & the mechanic(s) told both parties of repairing their leaky gas tank.
Easy to fool the customer as they squirt gas into the trunk & maybe a bit on the pavement.
What are the odds two owners would have needed that same repair?
Lost my trust in that outfit & looked for a dif. service shop.
In this world play it safe & lock up your toys.
Check the BBB.
One teen in Steveston just set his $1500 pedal bike on the side of McDonald's restaurant & was going to go inside & order.
I confronted him & shared that he should not be so trusting as anyone could jump on his bike & pedal away.
Well he had no bike lock so I became his personal security guard for 5 minutes. ( volunteered )
Be wise ,stay positive, be honest , as we can only live our own lives & hope others will chose the right way.
Evil & good in society.

I doubt it. They could just smash the windows, slash tires etc....and not even bother stealing the car.
100% crackheads in my mind.

Top ten car thieves, an attractive bunch:

Maybe Chris was the victim of the Mountain and Shaw Chilliwack car thief duo (#3 & #4 on the list). Hopefully they didn't do anything nasty in the LM. :-[
