Title: St Mary Lake
Post by: BwiBwi on July 03, 2005, 05:29:03 AM
Planning for a one day trip to St Mary Lake with my grandfather (86 years old). Is there a public dock at the lake where one
can fish from? Thank you

One day trip, that's kind of stressful, especially when your dad is quite old. :o Are you planning to take the first and last ferries? Anyways, not sure about any public docks, but there are various shore access for fishing, some just south of Lakeside Gardens.

Ya thinking of going out on the 7am ferry to Swertz bay then arrive at Salt Spring by 9:30 and leave on the 6pm ferry to Swertz bay.
and be back aroung 9 pm.
Do you know if there is sign to located these public access points?

If you are talking about Saltspring, go for at least an overnighter. It's an excellent place to spend some time. My family is going for a week in August. Have been there at least 6 weeks in 10 years. Sorry no idea about public access. We always rent a cabin at the North end where they have a dock full of boats & canoes for guests. The only problem is that most places only want to rent by the week, but you might luck out and find an open day or two.
