guy fishing at Orchard Park Port Moody bringing in cutthroat after cutthroat. Must have brought in 4 or 5 while I was watching. All less than 6 inches.
My reading of the regs says the max is 2 per day. and must be 30cm. Is this correct. If so I will let him know. He is there every day.
-
Is he just catchin', or is he catchin' and keepin'? You are correct, 2 per day, min 30 cm, but also only hatchery fish and only 1 over 50 cm. If he is retaining undersized, or wild, or too many fish, call it in.

he is catching and keeping. lots of them
-
You're sure he's catching cutthroat?
-
Most, if not all the cutties there are wild. If he's really catching cutties, report him.
-
In my experience people that poach like this know they are breaking the regs. Simply telling them will do no good as they likely to tell you to mind your own business. Try to get a license plate # & a photo of him in action - but don't put yourself at risk. Don't confront him. If you can get personal info and or a photo send it to ORR along with your report. An FO visiting him at home may have an effect you can't.

Tire slashing is an alternative that I have seen used in the past. But RRAP is the preferred approach.
Especially when combined with tire slashing.
But I don't condone tire slashing.

...or you can walk up to him and call him 'grasshopper' or 'troll' to his face! LOL - just kidding.
Jamming a potato into the exhaust pipe causes no damage, is costless to remove but incapacitates the vehicle completely - until the spud is extracted. However I don't endorse or encourage any such action.
please don't take this post seriously. :)

Talked with two CO's today about this, they will send a message to other CO's posted to that area.
May I ask at what time was this person seen at? a small description of this person would help as well.
-
he comes on a bicycle. Usually at low tide. He has a kayak bag that he puts all the fish in after killing them. I have seen him there 3 or 4 times.

Regardless of the actions taken by 243Pete, I would still encourage you to make a report to O.R.R. yourself. You have witnessed the violations first hand and are in the best position to offer actionable information.
