Does anyone know how to get to Sanctuary Pond without walking all the way from Hastings Street? The walk is not a problem for me but is difficult for disabled kids.

The hatchery staffs are on their way right now to stock the lake, and they're going to let me know what the parking situation is as soon as they phone me.
Normally there is parking right in front of the pond. We just want to make sure the gate to that lot is not closed off.

Thank you Rodney. Which gate is it? Can you ask the people in charge to keep it open?

From the hatchery staff yesterday who was there releasing the fish.
"You can't park like right in front of the pond but if you drive in at gate 2 there's a small
Parking area and like a 30 second walk to the dock"

Thank you so much Rodney!

You can get your vehicle to within about 100 yards of the dock.
If you go in gate 2, drive east, past the Forum, and take a left at the end of the driveway and park in front of the big red barns. This would still leave you with about 20 yards or so of lawn to cross, which might not be very easy for you.
So you might actually be better off driving east as far as you can from the entrance and parking in front of the little admin building. This would put you at the top of the hard pack gravel path that leads to the dock.

Halcyonguitars: Thank you so much for the time you spent looking at the site and writing down the directions. You have made the pond 100 times more accessible for us!

You're welcome:)
I live right by it and used to go all the time...
