STURGEON FROM SHORE?

Hey Fellas,

Has anyone had any luck catching decent sized sturgeon from shore? I wont have a boat for another 7 months and want to get my 10 year old boy into a sturgeon. You can PM me if you like.

I've been wondering the same thing - I've never gone sturgeon fishing before (never fished the Fraser for anything actually) but it sounds like it is something I"d like to try!

yah i have been thinking the same aswell..... it looks like fun.. i have a rod and reel for it but i would have to go out and buy some new line......

You cant get to the good honey holes or get the numbers you can get from a boat but you can still be successful. Get some chum roe first off for this time of year. Find a spot on the river that has a nice deep hole not far from shore. I dont know where you live so I could not give you a spot.

Nice dinos CB! As bronswick said, all you need to do is find a deep hole not to far from shore. There are a lot of spot on the fraser. I have only fished the lower for them though.

I have never fished Strugeon from a boat, and my biggest is around 9', so you can get some bigguns from shore.  If you are in the right spot, it can be very productive.  I went out a fair amount a couple years ago and was able to get into 70 plus in a one month span from April to May.  I have mainly fished the lower as well, but I did head up around the mission bridge area a couple weeks ago and got 2 while barfishing for Salmon. ;)

I'VE OUT FISHED GUYS FISHING OUTA BOATS WHILE I WAS FISHING FROM SHORE,ALL U GOTTA DO IS FIND A DEEP HOLE !
