Marmot - thanks!

Eagle - those are REALLY cute little ducklings!  I've got a soft spot for ducklings ;)

Female Ruby Throated Hummingbird

We seem to get a lot more female birds around the hummingbird feeder than males... Finally got one far enough from the actual feeder. They don't seem to like the sun :( Without much further ado, here she is:

You know what, this is not a ruby throated... she's a female rufous after looking closer...pretty sure anyways.

They just look tame...

those cranes can get quite agressive.  I had one jump up and down and flap towards me when I walked down a path it didn't want me to walk down (probably had little ones hiding in the grass).  Pretty neat to see them so close though considering they are not too common of a species as far as I recall.

Fly fisher that's a male and a female rufous you have there.. were they there together?  They might be a pair :)  Isn't the color on the male just crazy??  I was misidentifying them as the same right up until last week.

The woodpecker is red breasted sapsucker...pretty sure.  I've never seen one even though they are fairly common.

not sure if you care for identifying them but if you do, my mum who has been birding for 40+ years gave me a good tip thats helped me quite a bit... if you use illustrations rather than photos for ID'ing birds it can make the task easier as the illustrations are more "iconic" whereas photos will have a lot of variation.  I still suck at ID'ing them while out, I have to take a pic and then look at it later most of the time.

i actually saw this guy first i snapped the pic he moved and out of nowhere another one lands in the same tree and they started going at it, the humming birds were chasing each other away from the feeder.

I have a buddy who had "hummingbird wars" at his feeder last week.

hope this works:
