River in freshet now, high and colored too so forget about trying any fly fishing for a late steelhead.

Saw a fellow floating down river in an inner tube by the Hydro Bridge. ??? ::)



I love it...he's probably not wearing sunscreen either! Far as I'm concerned if somebody wants to go out and do something like that it should be their decision, as risky as it may be.  It's not exactly safe but hey, thats life.

He looked very content drifting along but the water was ice cold with the snow melt. Could he be fined as he was in a "water craft" without a life jacket on board?

He can't wear a lifejacket because from my experience it is more dangerous than without one if he gets caught in a sweep, and there are lots of them when the river is this high.

Floating down the river is lots of fun, i wouldnt do it during freshet though, i like to save that for July thru September!!

If you look closely you can see a warm bucket of KFC on his lap. Toasty morsels of chicken keeping him from hypothermia.

i dont know how you saw the kfc on his lap i looked and could not see it, and i do agree floating down the river is fun but not at this time of year
