Title: New Rodbuilding Tools
Post by: Brian Babcock on March 18, 2013, 09:33:27 AM
Hi all. I thought I would share my experience with some new tools that make our lives easier!

First - Pacific Bay epoxy mixer. I love this thing! You simply measure your two part polymer into a plastic mixing cup, add the stainless mixing rod, and flip the switch. In 5 minutes you have perfectly mixed, bubble free polymer ready to apply. Clean up the mixing rod with some alcohol - you're done. Sells for about $45 bucks.

Second - Flexcoat Cow Bone Thread Burnishing Tool. I just started using this yesterday. Previously, I always just slid my finger nail over the wraps as necessary. This little tool is very comfortable, slides the wraps perfectly, and leaves zero residue. All this for around $10 bucks.

When I get some more time, I'll fill you in on what I saw at the recent Rod Building Expo in North Carolina.

Cheers,
Brian
