Nicomen Slough Nov 11
« on: November 11, 2004, 11:48:22 PM »

I was out fly fishing in Nicomen Slough today from 8:30 or so till 3 p.m.  Not much going on.  I landed one 5-6 lb. bright wild coho mid day on a green leech with a bit of flash.  I was happy as it was my first fair hooked salmon on the fly.  (I've landed a few chum but I'm pretty sure they were all flossed.)

I didn't see too many other fishermen with coho either.  One fly fisherman landed a fish that I didn't get close enough to see; a few guys casting spoons were landing a few chum.

It was a beautiful day to be out there though.  It was a bit windy and cold in the morning, but calmed down and warmed up later on.  Lots of people were out there, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, or just walking the dog.  It was certainly one of those days that makes you glad you live in B.C.
