Caught a 12# buck on the fly today.

Also, something different to add to the mix!

I apologize for the picture quality (iPhone, and a dirty one to boot  :P ).
Caught this chromer Wednesday on my way home from work. YES, the picture shows it being quite dark outside, but the flash made it look darker than it was. It was just starting to get dark when I hooked her, and by the time it was landed and gutted, it was time to head out. Called out last cast to my old man, and then...FISH ON!

An insane weekend! One of the best in recent memory, and to top it off, Kitty hammered em pretty good and kept me busy tagging!

What we hit almost all the fish on... Got around 10 on jigs, 1 on a spoon, a handful on blue foxes, and the other 100 or so were on these 2 colour combo's of spinners. Chartreuse out fished orange 2 to 1 in coloured water. The second day in the clearer water results between the 2 were pretty even.

And the results of what a good rain will do after a month of fish waiting to come up...

The double headers became so prolific that we eventually put a cap on taking pics of those even... and said we would only do one if at least one of us had a fish such as these...

If you recognize the rivers... maybe don't comment on that, and get out there and experience the coho this year. Fishing is pretty fantastic right now, and the ones pushing in this weekend were some of the hardest fighting fish I've encountered this year!

Every Day
What size blade and spinner body weight do you find to be most efective from the Trophy Tackle Spinners?
I was thinking of getting some size 4's 3/8 or 1/2 oz.

Dan those are some awesome shots !

Having so many doubles headers would make for an amazing day and probably something that may never be repeated.

Does Trophy Tackle give you free stuff yet for all this publicity ??  ;)

Small spinners for clear water in the smaller flows I like the 3/8 body with the 3 blade.

Larger spinners for coloured water like we had, or for big/clear flows like the stamp, etc I'd go with the 4 or 5 blade and the 1/2 body. All mine right now are the 4 blade with the 1/2 body. I think the 3/8 body would look a little small with that large of a blade.

Amazing 2 days Hook! Multiple double headers on both days. It got repetitive with so many 6-7 pound fish, so I eventually stopped pulling out the camera period unless we had some nice fish to hand. I've never really experienced consistent fishing like that in every run we have gone in to. I had also never had multiple coho wake to spinners before. I eventually started reeling in as fast as I could to keep the spinners across the top to get those crazy takes, didn't get as many, but the ones I did were worth it.

To be honest, I've always said what was working whenever I post pictures - generally for the coho it seems to be spoons and flies for me. This weekend I tried everything from large to small spoons (I'm stubborn and stuck with them a while trying), to vibrax blue fox spinners in different colours to jigs. Nothing else seemed to work (except some fish on big jigs). Not sure if it's the fact Trophy Tackle has better plating on the blades or not, but the copper and gold definitely proved their worth to me. Just shows that it's always good to have a large assortment of stuff when it comes to coho.

smaller boxes are better for using either just in my jacket pockets or my waist pack. I have tried 1 large box years ago and it was just too damn cluttered LoL
