Has anyone improved their scores lately?
-
havent been out yet, plannning on going out tomorrow ;D
-
no stealies this season. but its not for lack of trying. still learning how to river fish. just started river fishing this summer.
-
Not having a banner year with landing fish going 2 for 11 with only 1 wild tubed from another angler. However saying that just being able to get out on the river most days is enough of a reward. Maybe tomorrow I will get a bonus, connecting with #12.
-
zero for two!
will try again in a couple of weeks!

You are right Chris, you are very lucky to be able to be on the river quite often, unlike me :'(

Been out with the spey rod a few times and actually got my first winter fish of the season on the fly already. I haven't been out in probably over a week now, so I think I'd better fish tomorrow and Thursday. :)

I believe it! After meeting you that one time at RFT, you seem to really know your stuff. But I'm sure that getting out so frequently doesn't hurt either ;D. After taking 4 years to catch my first steelhead, I'm 2 in 4 trips so far this season!

Finally.....after 10 or so trips and countless casts hooked a beautiful 10lbish wild doe on a small flow and managed to get her to hand and away. Was in about 12 inches of water underneath an undercut bank on some freezer burnt Coho Roe. The heart was pumping for sure; was a huge rush to hook my first Steelhead let alone land it. Hooked another beauty about half an hour later which ran and wrapped itself around a stick and gone!
-
2 hooked 0 landed so far... :p

Hi,

-
Yes Labmik I sure would like to now also sounds like a great stealhead river thats for sure! so your like hitting a fish almost every hour?
-
almost positive that he is fishing the Clearwater in Idaho
-
Yes, I'm fishing the Clearwater in Idaho. My best outing this season was in October when I hooked 13 and landed 11 in five hours of night fishing. The biggest this season was this one:

Backtrolling lighted plugs from a drift boat. As for fish numbers, 327,000 steelhead passed through Lower Granite Dam on the Snake River. Only about 20% of those were bound for the Clearwater. The limit on the Snake/Salmon Rivers this year was increased to 5 per day because of the banner run. I guess that's what happens when you have big water years and the smolts can acutally find their way downstream instead of getting lost in the backwaters caused by the dams on the Snake and the Columbia.
