Lions Hunting a Banded Mongoose in the Serengeti

(1/1)

DragonSpeed:
Not exactly a takedown of a wildebeest or the usual NatGeo material,  but cool, nonetheless.  We watched a pride of lions take down a wayward Banded Mongoose, when we were in the Serengeti.

Mongoose moves, out of frame... His first (and ultimately last) mistake

First chase - Mongoose escapes by mere centimetres

Full out chase when one finds him again....

Two of the cats going head to head chasing that mongoose:

Success - a small snack

My only wish was that it could have been closer.  These were all shot at 400mm.  Pretty exciting for a such a small "event", personally.
