Title: Chilliwack Pink Salmon Egg Takes
Post by: Rodney on October 05, 2005, 11:53:46 AM
Some maybe interested in this, especially those who haven't touched a fish lately. ;) Please email James if you plan to meet them at Rice Lake jamesweger@shaw.ca

Hi Everyone,

Here's the dates and times from some upcoming Chilliwack Pink Salmon Egg Takes. We have to take 1.8 million this year to be transplanted to the Seymour River. This is part of DFO plan to introduce a pink salmon run into the upper Seymour river.

Here's the dates so far:

Friday October 7th

Wednesday Oct 12th

Friday October 14th

Times (two options)

1. Meet at Rice Lake Gate for 6:45am and travel up in the Seymour truck. ( space for 5 people)

2. Meet at the Chilliwack Hatchery for 9:00am (own transportation)

Equipment needed:

1. Waders (let me know if you need a pair. I can pack some for you if you don't own a pair).

2. Rain gear

3. Change of clothes

4. Lunch

This is a full day commitment. Expect to be back on the North Shore by 5 pm, maybe later?

Please let me know if you are available to help out and where you will be meeting us (Rice Lake or Chilliwack Hatchery).

Thanks,

James Weger

Rice Lake is in North Vancouver. I think it would be easier for you to drive to the Chilliwack hatchery instead.

Well, big brother is watching. ;)

You said that it takes you an hour to drive to Chilliwack. It just makes sense to go directly there instead of meeting at Rice Lake, then to Chilliwack.

It's everything. The $10.00 gets you into the social, a good lunch, a ticket for the draw prizes, and a chance to win $1,000.
