Where the heck do I find list of BC's record fish!?

I'm having a devil of a time trying to find a list of the provincial record fish (biggest fish ever caught in BC per species). Help! Not on the Env. Dept site as far as I could tell.

I appreciate that, but doesn't the gov't collect that data somewhere, for all species?

I Just had a look at that freshwater link and wow, 52lb rainbow and a 44lb steelhead? DANG

It would be great to see what the largemouth and smallmouth bass records were.

I would imagine so as well but I am just as stumped as you as to where to find the info, lol.

--BC does squat but complain that fishing license sales are down... Check out http://www.travelmanitoba.com/Wilderness/Fishing/MasterAngler/&node=6004  Manitoba master anglers program and you will see what could be done... Also note besides bragging rights most trophy fish are released.

--the Manitoba government seems to embrace angling and promote it, knowing the value of the resource to the province.

Skaha, that's a great program!
I note the "weights"  ;) of the fish are in centimeters (ie there measurement is LENGTH, no weight). That's for catch and release purposes. The International Game Fish Association has a new length category too, and it's for catch and release.

 This is what I found for Chinook Salmon:

The current sport-caught World Record is 92 pounds (42 kg) and was caught in 1928 in the Skeena River (Terrace, British Columbia). some were found dead at well over 100 lb. The commercial catch world record is 126 pounds (57 kg) caught near Rivers Inlet British Columbia in the late 1970s.

That might be the *BC* record, maybe? Since the WORLD record, according to IGFA is 44.11 kg (97 lb 4 oz)   from the Kenai River, Alaska , USA, 5/17/1985, by Les Anderson

I hear you on that one! Yes, take wiki with a huge grain of salt.
I wish IGFA had British Columbia's records, but I don't think they do.
