Just picked up some Trilene XL smooth casting 20lbs for the Vedder.  It gives up abrasion resistance for limpness and thin diameter, which I'm Ok with.  I want the 20lbs strength, but without the diameter and stiffness.

Braids are NOT a good option . The mild stretch of a ( 10-15 % mono or co-polyr ) helps you land fish with its shock absorbsion ,,,,braids average 1-3 % stretch ,,,,,bad deal .

I always thought of my rods as shock absorbers!! ;) ;)
Braid is just fine! :)

I took off the 20lbs Trilene XL (extra limp).  It is indeed very limp but the abrasion resistance SUCKS.  If anyone wants an 330 yds of XL ~two even sections (about 2 fill ups for a 6500C3), let me know.

Still love the Big Game though.
