Title: worms
Post by: tumbleweed on August 30, 2009, 04:45:26 PM
Does anyone grow their own worms for fishing? If so how easy is it? I would like to have worm easy to get from my yard instead of buying them from the sports store all the time. I take my five year old fishing with me all the time and he would proably enjoy growing his own worms. Thanks for your help.

Heres what I did before we renoed the house ...my back yard had no fence so my lawn ended then a bit of dirt before the back lane...simply lay down a piece of old carpet on the dirt section or on the grass, I had a 5'x5' piece and wait about a week ..presto nice little worms perfect for trout fishing. Cheers

When I was a kid, we used go and soak the heck outta a patch of green grass around 2 hours before dark.  Then go out with a flash light and pluck em off the grass.  Our yard had nice fat dew worms.  Careful tho, they're really sensitive to foot steps, plus when you grab one, pull VERY carefully, you're only seeing half of them.
