i'm new to fresh water coho fishing.could you guys tell me what type of spoons and spinners to use.any help would be great.

You can drift a bit of wool, or a colorado blade under a float too.

depending on the system the following lures are very popular for coho fishing
 Koho's, Kitamat's,Colorado's, Krocodiles, Rainbow Croc's, Blue Fox vibrax spinners, Mepps Aglia spinners,Gibbs Silvex spinner's,Ironhead spoons,Dick Nite's,Mteric spinner's,. Size and color of course, depend on the system you are fishing. Most popular croc color is  Hammered brass fire stripe. For koho spoons it is Blue scale fire stripe and for blue fox spinners it is the finish #105, silver blade blue body. I am sure I missed some ,but these ones are all very popular

grew up in nanaimo.fished the nitinat,some small steelie streams out of tofino.lots of offshore out of bamfield
