Title: The Stamp River September 29, 2007
Post by: Kelso on October 01, 2007, 10:46:23 PM
My brother Shaun and I made the trip over to Port Alberni to fish The Stamp with Nick at West Coast River Charters  and we had a great time.

It rained like crazy on the Saturday we arrived and continued through the night without letting up. The river must have come up at least one foot or more over night but we still got into about 10 fish on Sunday. Heading back in October and have booked two more trips for November for Steelies. Thanks for a great trip Nick !

kelso apparently there is more chinooks coming in now that coho. Kinda seems backwards for this time. The counts are 37,500 coho which were forcasted for only 20,000 and only 11,000 chinook have made it back. 66,000 were taken by natives and commercials and they wanted 27,000 returning so somebody messed up big.

Of the ten we got to the boat I would say seven were Chinook and three were Coho. I was really hoping to bring home a nice Coho this trip but it didn't work out that way. A great trip though regardless.
