Title: Where to find Clip-on sinker?

Hi,

Anybody know where I can purchase one of these clip-on sinkers?
Looking to be able to clip directly onto the hook to make bobber depth adjustment easier.

FWIW fly fishers have been setting depth on their bobbers (strike indicators) by clipping a pair of hemostats to the hook bend on their chironomid pattern for decades. Others use a bell weight with clip swivel attached and put that on the leader. That should work as well as the approach on the video.

If you really want one of these devices try Cabelas or some of the on line sport outfits in Alberta (The Fishing Hole) or Ontario.

A lead weight tied to an alligator clip works better then hemostats, I've lost a pair of hemostats in the mud before. I think army navy (or any local fly shop) may have some pre made ones if you don't want to make your own. Ice fishers also use something similar.

For sure, if you are just using it to test for depth, don’t need to spend too much money on a solution (unless you want something fancy).

A rubber band wrapped around an old piece of lead or even a rock will get the job done.

rubber tubing plus pencil lead, hook through rubber and away you go. Cheap as borsch and it works.

Hi all,

Thanks for the suggestions; I found some at Bass Pro at 2 for $4 ($2/piece) in case anyone was interested in finding these.

Haven't tested it in the water yet, but clips very easily and securely onto the hook.
