go to this site and look for the fly tying link click on the pumpkin head and watch the video it shows how to tie it and shows it at work on tunkwa, http://northwestoutdoors.com/ or you can go to the tunkwa lake resort site and click on the tunkwa videos link.

try using rabbit strip instead of maribou, it breathes better

try Pacific Angler. I knwo Michael & Young have red ones but not the orange. I think there is a BEADWORKS store in van as well which is worth checking out.

I got perfectly good orange metal-lined beads at my local dollar store.  I now have all the Pumpkinhead beads I will need for the rest of my life and it cost me 2 dollars. 

By the way, this fly SLAYED locally yesterday when the fish wanted nothing else.

in most places i have fished when the fish are finicky the pumpkinhead has allways done well,its a great attractor pattern

I just started to tie my own flys and learning the pumpkin head was the first one i went for :D
