Ok, OK, not many of us want to fish this way. But this is the American doing it quite close to us, in Oregon. How do they justify it? Quite brutal way to fish actually. >:(

I remember when I was younger seeing people fish like that in some of the drainage ditches of Pitt Meadows for carp. Was pretty cool to watch.
-
Doesn't look too sporting but that's me. I hope they eat what they kill.
-
that would be kinda fun, practice that all through the spring and summer and then ur ready for the fall!
-
Still have my old fishing arrow around somewhere. Brings back fond memmories. Nice way to tag a Carp for the table, though when I bow fished you could only go after Burbot. Found it a lot like fly fishing.

If carp got into the harrison or vedder, it wouldn't take long till people up there were advocating to do the same thing.

Carp have been in the Sumas for years so if they wanted to be in the Vedder they would have by now. Carp dont like the faster water and like the Sloughs. They are a bottom fish not too worried about them. Its the bass that people should be worried about.
As far as the video goes, its fine to me as long as it stays in the USA.

If someone wants to eat a carp they can kill it what ever way they want i know i would never fish for them let alone eat them . Just think july on the fraser and 2000 people with bow and arrows not going to happen..........
-
Don't laugh, I'm sure they will be going for springs like that at the KWB this year ;)
-
People have been bow shooting Carp in the Lower Rainland for decades.
Note the use of the past tense-I'm not sure if Carp are regulated as a Sports fish now-previously they weren't-it was open season so to speak. ::)
-
I used to do a lot of archery, but I never thought of using it as a fishing method!! :o I would never do it myself, that is unless I could shoot bass!! ;D ;D
-
Well what's the difference between this, and spear fihsing in the chuck ?personally see it as a ligitimate fishing method, as long as they abide by the same quotas as everyone else.
-
I actually saw 2 first nation indian teenager bow fishing at the chehallis canyon pool about 15 years ago,he used a 60-100lb test main line behind the arrow. They were shooting at the coho and chum back then. ??? ::)
-
If i was hunting for blacktail i woulda shot them not the deer! Those guys aren't allowed to do that! Man like how much slack does the government give to the natives? >:(
-
Well I would rather see them spearing fish than using nets. Thats just my opinion.
-
Well that is one way of fishing I wish I could shoot that good
-
Carp are considered non-native, and in Washington State there is no daily or possession limit. You may use spear or bow and arrow. In many places it is illegal to release a carp if you catch one. They kind of get the same treatment as pikeminnow.
-
WE SHOULD DO THAT TO THE BASS FISHERY UP HERE ;D
-
carp and pikeminnow aren't game fish but i'm game to go after them with a bow and arrow
