I need to schedule vacation.  When would be the very best week for all around fishing on the Vedder between now and December?

The first two weeks of October are typically prime time on the Chilliwack/Vedder River system. That being said, it is also the busiest period of year, especially during the Thanksgiving long weekend.

Coho wills tart showing up right now, especially since the river has boosted quite a bit and become brown overnight. This will give a chnace for the fish to move up so watch the backwashes for some silver splashes  ;)

Was out yesterday and had 2 coho chase my spoon up to the edge. My friend (Bigfisher) also hooked a coho but it jumped and went into a log (he is convinced he "flossed" it with a spoon  ::)) We also saw 2 other jump yesterday and saw a 15 pnd white spring landed (chrome bullet). Went again today and was alot slower with no fish to show, and only saw one jump across the river from me. They will start showing up steadily now as the river is still coming up with the rain and the water clarity is pretty foggy. Rain for most of the week and then it gets sunny so it should be getting good soon  ;)

Regardless of water conditions there will be fish.  I have done very well in the coming 1-2 weeks in old man piss trickle conditions.  Couple years back, water was extremely low around first couple days of september.  My buddy did not even want to go because he thought there would be no fish.  Needless to say, we were in to close to 30 fish in a quiet upper river spot.  We saw one other angler that day.

so for this week - is it better to try the vedder or the fraser?
I just want to feel a head shake on my line.

I would go fraser. Fish rodney's fav fish if action is slow (pikeminnow).

Every year it's a battle to tear myself away from the beach, however my earliest is Sept 11 (1994 to be precise; yes I keep a journal) with 4 coho hooked, 3 landed, and one dolly (on roe/green wool combo and spinners)

Beach eh?
If you don't wear waders you can also get a pretty good tan out on the river.  ;)

I have landed wile ho's the first week in Sept . 1997 ,( what ever date that was ) i didn't keep very good records then or ever . But Coho are there , but hard to "pick" out cause of the mass amounts of white springs sometimes . But a bad day on the river is better than a great day at work . right ????
