So I lost the small screw that holds my islander together and found that islander is charging 30+ tax and shipping for a replacement. Has anyone found a cheaper alternative to the stock screw that works? If not I guess I'll have to succumb to my mistakes and pay the price.

https://www.fastenal.com/ Has a lot of different machine screws, the online catalogue is fairly extensive. I think it’s a metric screw your looking for. They won’t sell direct to the public but they will to plumbing, electrical , Hvac companies / tradesmen if you know someone.

If you are near Abby, I'd pop in at Mike's reel repair and I bet they would have in stock a retaining screw for your Islander
I wouldn't go cheap on any o'l screw to fix your reel could really screw it up further and not operate properly

It's a kind of unique screw if I remember correctly. I think I have one. I dont need it anymore since I no longer rock that reel. I'll check when I get home.
