Given equal high quality/price where does a spin excel over a baitcaster. The obvious is newbies with bird nest which isn't an issue with trained thumb.

Spinning reels excel at casting lighter weighted lures.  I have also heard they are good for drifting jigs with a float due to their ability to free drift it.
