Title: Tenkara Fly Fishing
Post by: yamadrifter on May 24, 2010, 10:01:53 AM
I've been looking into the Japanese technique of fly fishing called Tenkara. Just wondering if anybody has tried it here in BC?

I've seen a oriental guy at Green Timbers Tenkara fishing, he caught a good number of fish that day.

Talk to Darryl at Freds Custom Tackle. He is very much into this style of fishing.

It seems you sould make your own rod out of bamboo and a shooting head. I mean if people were catching fish with a piece of bamboo some string and a bent needle 200 years ago why not now. No need to re-invent the wheel, sounds like it would be fun but another form of fishing to spend my pay cheque on ???
