knotbadman:
Hello all!
I have been reading for the past couple of years but just started posting.
Name: Steven
Residence: Maple Ridge
Fishing preferences: I have recently started fly fishing, which I love! But if I want to actually catch fish, I like to cast spoons from a kayak that I built. A kayak cockpit gets small really fast with a 7 lb coho flopping around in it.  ;)
More than anything I enjoy exploring a new river on foot. A perfect combination of hiking and fishing.

Fishing history: I grew up in Port Alberni in the 70s and 80s where I could walk from the back of our property to the Stamp River in about 5 minutes. Quite often you would only come across one or two other people fishing even in the height of the salmon run. In retrospect, I wish I had taken advantage of that more often. Our family camped along the Alberni Canal every summer where we would fish from my Dad's boat every morning. My personnel largest fish was a 29 1/2 pound chinook which placed 2nd in the Junior Tyee club derby when I was 13. I took a long break from fishing as nothing could ever compare to fishing in the "Salmon Capital of the World" during that time. My kids are mainly independent now so I have time to return to something I have missed.

Thank you to Rod for the many hours I have spent watching your videos and reading this forum!!

Hello everyone,

Age: 26
Residence: Chilliwack
Favorite Fish: Chum, always thought they looked cool and the chromers are a pleasure to play with

I have been lurking on here since I started fishing, figured its about time I make an account. Mostly only fish for salmon but have been trying to get into steelheading a little more.

Hurtin Albertan:
Ex-lowermainlander now residing in northern Alberta since '01 and missing the hell out of the Fraser Valley where I first learned to fish at my grandfather's elbow over 60 years ago.

Born in Vancouver in Oct. 1954, grew up in Ditchmond for 20 years then Aldergrove for 20+ more. in C/L relationship since '99 and diving back into fishing, tying and rod building after 20 years of barely doing any of that.  Almost 40 years since I built my last fly rod but have almost finished a nice 10' 2-piece, 5wt with my first ever DIY cork grip.  10 more rod blanks on order so am really getting into it. :)

Favourite fishing is with a fly rod but am known to sling lures with a bait-caster or spinning rod.  Bottom bouncing spin-n-glows for steelies or salmon on the upper Chilliwack was always a lot of fun when they wouldn't take a fly.

Tight lines everybody!
