Simms warranty return shipping
« on: December 15, 2015, 05:59:23 PM »

Anyone had problems with Simms return shipping , my waders arrived in Vancouver on the 4th and said departed for delivery but they haven't arrived yet , it's via usps and I emailed Simms and they said to contact local shipping offices , so should I be calling my local Canada post office where I usually pick up stuff ?

It should be in the hands of canada post so call them.  Usps does not operate in Canada handing things over to our system.  Believe the exchange occurs at the border.  Sounds like a courier issue and not Simms issue.

First it was USPS not UPS.
It is the busiest time of the year for parcels and stuff, cross border stuff might have to go through customs.
That ain't quick.
As suggested, check the tracking number sometimes it'll dead end for a few days at this time if year.
Hopefully you have insurance ( not to get you paranoid).

Most of the time a tackle shop will take care of this.
Why not use them.
Just curious and others may benefit.
Good luck.

Might even want to check your email. Some places are phasing out paper notices and just sending out an email.

Canada Post is behind on their deliveries because of Christmas holidays... We have a package which was expected to arrive on the 8th, and the status has been "out for delivery" since that day.

I know this is too late for you but for any Warranty Claims going to the US, I usually go down to Blaine and send my stuff there.  Return address is also the Blaine address.  Mail Service within the US is way quicker and cheaper (if you are responsible for the costs of shipping).  All the mail service offices down in Blaine have packaging in case you need an envelope or box.  I do this for all my Sage Rods as well.  Most of my gear comes from either Simms or Sage and they are both in the Northwest.  Usually only takes a couple of days delivery time to Montana or to Bainbridge Island where Sage is.

Definitely recommend doing this as well. Not just for returns but even buying as well. You can still save $100's buying some things from the bigger US stores, even with the bad exchanve rate we have now. Just shows you how they mark up prices over here on some items.
