Title: What do you do on the off season?
Post by: Bone on December 05, 2005, 09:24:57 AM
If you are like me, I am itching to go fishing, I need my fishing fix soon.  Just wondering what everyone does on the off seasons of fishing? :)

With a lot of the ho's shownig up late, and having caught steelies in mid dec. before, there isn't really an off season at all this year.  Buddies went fishing for Coho on saturday, did ok.  Next saturday, I think that we are going for Steelies for the first time this year!!!  So, no.  There hasn't really been an off season this year!!!

Their is no off-season for me. Probably wont go out as often when our newborn arrives. Guess I will be tying alot of flies when the baby is taking naps.

Friendly advice. When your new born is sleeping you might want to do the same. Those little angels can sometimes be ..... well not so angel

I had to call an exorcist this weekend for mine ;) ..shes 6 mos old now and makes "damien" sounds :)

no off season for me either....even when I lived in the interior, it was ice fishing time!  Down here there is no reason to stop fishing, there is fishable water all year round.

Not much, hunting I guess is my main one that I do, but that usually wraps up with the salmon season. Otherwise watch hockey and take it easy. I'm working on a hovercraft right now though which I need an engine for if anyone has one!

off season isnt until July when lakes are slow, only a few springs around, and sturgeon is barely starting. Thats when i go camping.

I stop fishing steelhead in april, start fishing sturgeon in april, till late june, then I usually start to do well for springs in mid-late june.  After that I am fishing all the way through the year for spring, sockeye then coho into december, then it is on to steelhead again!!!  So, It seems as though nowadays, you could go fishnig for salmon or some sort every month of the year!!!  If you know where to look, you can find salmon/ steelhead in every month!! ;D ;D

OFF SEASON! i don't want to hear about that ok! @#$%^%&
haven't been out fishing seriously for almost 3 weeks now, u wouldn't realize how painful and itchy it is when my glorious Daiwa rod and new abu reel are in sight, coz i couldn't go out and fish!
the weather is a turn off, and not knowing where to go is another hassle.  i would, however, try to give steelhead a shoot later in january although i am still a rookie. keep fishing, guys, there's no so-called off season in a hardcore fisherman's mind.
