I usually attend but was not able this year so I cannot help you but I am sure we will hear from someone that did after the event.

I just got back from a boo at the river at Lickman Road and lots of anglers out. A CO was checking licenses there. River conditions were still OK but not as good as yesterday I thought.

Heres a shot of the weight-in
(http://thumb0.webshots.net/t/53/553/3/27/53/2255327530099123620ASLeIe_th.jpg) (http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2255327530099123620ASLeIe)

Not a bad day considering last year there were twice as many anglers and only 4 fish weighted in. The turn out this year seemed a little low, wondering if it had anything to do with the jump in ticket prices?  Some of the auction items went for REALLY cheap, almost criminal :-\.

Wow the fish on the left is very small maybe its a resident trout. ::)

I think it was 6.5 lbs, picture doesnt do them justice... They were all decent. Derby rules said fish must be 5lbs and 50 cm minimum

not sure what floater is on, the fish on the left is nearly 9 lbs, pretty decent fish in my books.

Any stats on the number of tickets sold? Or the number of anglers who checked in?
I was told 245 tickets sold.

No for the first time in along time I was not attending the derby so I will not be doing the writeup. You are correct Wade won once again.

HAHA I fished so much water yesterday I almost couldn't walk back to my truck at the end of the day !!! I fished Upper/ mid upper/ mid/ mid lower and lower , constantly moving , hitting every inch of the flow and I didn't touch nada !!! must have seen a hundred other anglers and not one fish anywhere !! The water conditions were perfect and every cast felt fishy !!! got checked by a co which was nice, talked to him about our upcoming derby and he even gave me a licence pouch and a keychain :)
all in all it was a great day to be out...

I suppose the license pouch and keychain are now going to the winner of the Fly division of your tournament huh??? Was there allot of snow up there? Hit the skagit but couldn't get higher then Hamilton/Lyman...Got a Dolly and then spent all day hiking into water that was fishy but tough to fish as that low the river is seriously wide!!!! Merc made new friends at the Diner for lunch....SEVEN deer and no neckties!! Was a pretty cool day too!!!

I think Wade should be stripped of his title ! He spits chew into the river and gets those fish addicted to chew. :o Then he goes back on derby day ties on a pinch of Red man,and wham. Jumbo nicotine addicted Steelhead.  Wade the glory days are over, The Lumberjack is onto ya!!!! ;D

I'm not sure how DFO defines resident rainbow, but here's how we do it in the States.  Unless there is a large barrier downstream of the fish (steelhead/rainbow) you have to assume that at some point it will smolt and head out to sea.  This is why the US Fish and Wildlife Service and Washington State Dept. of Fish and Wildlife consider all trout in river systems without barriers to be steelhead regardless of their age.  True, some fish will never smolt, but the majority of them will at some point in time.
