Title: 20/20 magnetic threader
Post by: SkagitDreamer on July 23, 2014, 08:18:00 PM
I came across these yesterday and ordered a couple from eBay - cost me $11 each, delivered. No more stressing tying on small flies in the twilight hours (or any hour lol)! I never knew they existed. Now, just the waiting game. Will report back. :D

ha ha ha ha ha ha I handed one of those to my dad in a fishing store a few years back and told him he needed it so I didn't have to tie on his size 14 and smaller chironies anymore !!

He replaced his glasses shortly after

Lolol

Maybe I need glasses not a threader  ;D

Be great at dusk, tho I usually use a palomar which is easy until the 16's or so

Palomar knot on flies  ???

I would just use a simple Clinch knot

Yes, easy strong and can give it action or not. Shrug. Works for me when needed :)

Nothing wrong with a clinch knot either.

I prefer a double Davy knot:
It's fast, easy, strong, and is a very low profile knot.

I like the Davy for smaller flies. Clean knot. Maybe I should try the double as my regular knot for larger flies. It's also pretty sleek and strong(er).
