Post by: ray on August 19, 2010, 10:08:50 AM
i have a bfr355 reel on my 5 wt rod and was just wondering if it would be too big to put on a 3wt. if it is what reel would you recommend to get. i have a couple of spare spools so i was just wondering if it would fit a 3 wt. thanks

You can use it but your setup will feel unbalanced, I would not use a 5wt line because I fined over loading a light 1-3wt makes the rod because.
I am using a Loop Opti creek and a Redington Drift 3-4wt reels on my 3wt, I love Loop but it is expensive. My Redington Drift is a great click and paw and is as smooth as can be.
